Mt. Sunapee, New Hampshire
Creative Director & Design Lead
Hideaway Inn Mt. Sunapee was envisioned as the flagship expression of the Hideaway Inns brand, with a design approach rooted in local folklore, regional history, and layered storytelling. The goal was to create a hotel that felt deeply connected to place—unexpected, playful, and rich with detail—while maintaining an elevated aesthetic throughout that still makes sense for the adventurer.
More than 400 pieces of original and vintage artwork were sourced to weave narrative into every corner of the property, complemented by custom upholstery using vintage fabrics, distinctive paint combinations and bold, unexpected wallpaper moments. Guest rooms were thoughtfully differentiated, including the addition of family-style accommodations designed to support longer stays and multi-generational travel.
The amenity spaces were designed as high-style communal environments that invite both connection and retreat, including a high-top work station, a living room with a curated vinyl library, a lofted reading library, an indoor yard with lawn games and outdoor fire pits. Together, these spaces establish Mt. Sunapee as a destination in its own right—playful yet polished, narrative-driven and intentionally designed from concept through execution.
